Echoes of Angmar use original 2007 EU (Codemasters) client patched to Book 11 (we don't provide the client but it can be found around the Internet, for example here). You can translate the client to different supported languages (FR/DE/RU/ZH), but it will require to download some additional files and put them in right place inside game folder.
Each translation has its own peculiarities and issues to look out for before installation:
FR and DE are fully supported by source game client, but have some major issues to fix (some text strings, voiceover and map images)
RU and ZH are not supported by default (you have to fully change text strings, voiceover, map images and videos)
Russian translation is based by earliest offical localization for version Book 14 (extracted from DVD in box version), but faithfully rewritten and fixed to fit with Book 11 (furthermore, supported some kind of Auction search using item names in Russian; work on this feature continues)
Chinese translation is based on offical localization for version Mines of Moria (found through Internet), but currently playable on Book 11 client (maps have been redraw, videos have official ZH subs, voiceover is EN as it used to be officially; rewriting continues)
Some non-original server-source messages don't support translation by game client (f.e. 'Echoes of Angmar' welcome message in chat window)
Auction search supports only English input (because of server architecture; currently only Russian version have alpha feature to fix it)
There is a font display issue between players using different local versions of the client (f.e. original EN/FR/DE client shows ??? instead of words in Russian/Chinese), however, chat links to items works properly if you put your mouse cursor on it
It's technically possible to add any non-official localization, but it will require a massive amount of work (f.e. using AI to translate 100 thousands of strings as being done with translation to Turkish)

Choose the right language (FR or DE) during LOTRO B11 game client installation
Open downloaded archive by any archiver utility (we recommend 7zip) or extract it anywhere
Copy local folder to the game folder on path <...>\The Lord of the Rings Online\echoespatch
(Only if it’s not a first clear install)Press ‘Yes to All’ to update .patch files when needed
Play as usual
(How to switch language)Just rename ‘local’ folder to different name (f.e. <...>\The Lord of the Rings Online\echoespatch\local_no).You can store as much local versions as you need. Furthermore, you can switch folders during game process, while client is running. You don’t need to reload the client, but it may take some time to change the language. Go through loading screens to speed things up. The wise idea would be to create 2 or more .bat files with the rename function to do it in one click.
