Echoes of Angmar:About

Echoes of Angmar is a private server emulator project for the massively multiplayer online role-playing game Lord of The Rings Online:Shadows of Angmar. The team behind the project aims to create a server emulator that will replicate the original servers that existed before any expansions were released.

Overview

The developers are committed to accurately recreate the Vanilla LOTRO experience, ranging from gameplay mechanics to the social environment. Their objective is to closely mirror the state of LOTRO during the time of the Book 11 patch, which was released in October 2007. This patch represents the version that includes all key content—particularly Annúminas and The Rift of Nûrz Ghâshu,while still predating many significant landscape alterations and revisions, such as the revamp of Angmar, changes to the Old Forest map, and more.

Project status

The server is presently undergoing active development and is currently being tested in a closed beta. The current information suggests that the game will release in an open persistent beta state after the current closed beta has concluded. Meaning there will be no wipe even after transition out of beta. However, at this time, we do not have specific dates for the release of the persistent server.
